Francis E. McGlinchey
GREENFIELD -Francis E.
McGlinchey, 75, of 14 Holly Ave., died Tuesday (6-10-03), at
Baystate Medical Center in Springfield.
Born in Chelmsford on July
2, 1927, he was the son of Patrick F. and Gladys (Kemp)
McGlinchey. He graduated from Chelmsford High School in
1946 and later moved to Manchester, Conn. In 1992 he relocated
to Greenfield where he had c been a resident since. He was
employed as a field service superintendent with the
Metropolitan Life Insurance Co. for 40 years before retiring
in 1982. He served in the Navy from June 1945 until his
honorable discharge in August 1946. He was a Fireman First
Class. He was a member of the Metropolitan Life Veterans
Association .
He enjoyed traveling, all
sports and the Red Sox.
Survivors include two sisters,
Eleanor Roth and her husband, Richard,
of Dracut, Mass. and Lorraine Entwistle of
Dunedin, Fla. and a godchild, Debra McPherson of Greenfield.
He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Services
will be private at the
convenience of the family.
There are no calling hours.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the
charity of one's choice. Walker Funeral Home, 14 High
St., is in charge of arrangements. |
